The existing Anita Purves Nature Center in Urbana, Illinois was expanded and renovated to support the Urbana Park District’s mission to promote the understanding and wise stewardship of the natural environment. The project included a 5,000 square-foot addition with a new entrance, permanent exhibit hall, multipurpose classrooms, wildlife viewing room, and restrooms. The existing 4,200-square-foot building was remodeled for staff offices and educator resource rooms. Habitat gardens surround the building and a trailhead leads to nearby Busey Woods.
