Comprehensive planning, design, and construction phase services were provided over a three-year period for the expansion and renovation of Memorial Stadium at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The project included a new end zone seating bowl with training facilities below, a new west tower addition with indoor and outdoor club seating, luxury suites and press level, and updated fan concourses with new concessions, restrooms, and other amenities. The unique tower design preserved all of the historic elements of the landmark building while providing an unusually intimate spectator viewing experience for a stadium of this size. Scheduled phases of work continued throughout the year to minimize overall construction time and still allow football games to be played each fall. Owner's construction management and multiple bid packages were used to expedite completion of this complex project.
