Champaign Unit 4 School District's existing McKinley Field in Champaign, Illinois, was demolished and replaced to provide modern athletic facilities for the Central High School football and track programs. The redesign included an artificial turf football field, a 400-meter synthetic track, various field event areas, bleachers with a press box, and outdoor sports lighting. A new 9,000-square-foot field house was also designed to provide locker rooms and training spaces for both programs along with restrooms and concessions for the public. Site improvements included new storm water collection infrastructure, a dry detention basin, walkways, and parking areas.
