Dodds Athletic Center
Project Type/Date Complete:
Renovation - 2009
Total Project Cost:
$1,000,000.00
After 40 years of intense use, the existing 15,000-square-foot gymnasium at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, was fully renovated to better support athletic teams, student and staff recreation, academic instruction, and public assemblies. The scope of work included new wood sports flooring, retractable bleachers, safety padded lower walls with sound-absorbing panels above, and new finishes and graphics throughout. State-of-the-art lighting, basketball and volleyball equipment, sound systems and scoreboards completed the project. Re-dedicated as the Donald C. Dodds Jr. Athletic Center, a flexible multipurpose facility was created to meet today's programming needs.
