The Heritage Master Plan for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign reflected the desire to celebrate and honor the proud history, traditions, and spirit of intercollegiate athletics at the university. Unifying architectural elements, landscape features, activity areas, and exhibits will guide visitors intuitively through the campus, providing opportunities to enjoy and participate in the Illinois athletic tradition. Visitors will appreciate the university's longstanding commitment to holistic education and gain a richer understanding of athletics' power to unite people of different ages and backgrounds in pursuit of common goals, ideals, and loyalties.
