An updated plan for future campus growth and change was developed for Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois. The update summarized the previous five years of campus expansion and provided a five-year plan for future development. In this case, the plan focused primarily on the redevelopment of vacant space within the existing central campus. The document also informed the Illinois Community College Board of any planned land acquisitions, modifications to existing facilities, and construction of new facilities. The planning process included interviews with campus administrators, various user groups, and maintenance personnel; preliminary facility programming; location and fit analyses; project budgeting and scheduling; identification of funding sources; and prioritization of projects within the planning horizon.
