Urbana City Building
Project Type/Date Complete:
Expansion and Renovation - 1998
Total Project Cost:
$4,000,000.00
This project expanded and renovated the City of Urbana's government offices, police station, and fire station in Urbana, Illinois. The design solution featured a 14,000-square-foot infill addition that connected three separate 1960s vintage structures under a single roof to accommodate the departmental space needs and address existing accessibility deficiencies. The addition included a central atrium space that provides new entrances to the complex and serves as a public service lobby. The three existing buildings were completely renovated and unified by a new exterior skin, resulting in an updated and modern civic image for the City of Urbana.
