Health Professions Instructional Facility
Project Type/Date Complete:
Interior Buildout - 2009
Total Project Cost:
$2,500,000.00
To accommodate program growth, the Health Professions Department at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, relocated into 21,000 square feet of unoccupied space in the H-Wing. Separated from the main campus, the space was designed as a stand-alone instructional facility for the Occupational Therapy, Dietetic Technician, Nurse Assistant, Practical Nurse, Emergency Medical Services, Medical Assisting, and Massage Therapy programs. The new location also houses Parkland’s state-of-the-art human patient simulators. The buildout included SMART classroom-labs, medical and therapeutic teaching clinics, a computer classroom-testing center, faculty offices, and student commons.
