This purpose of this study was to explore the possible expansion and renovation of the Bielfeldt Athletic Administration Building at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign campus. The scope of work included evaluating the existing facility, defining the functional space requirements, developing alternative site and building design concepts , and estimating total project costs for the selected scheme. A two-story addition with associated remodeling was preferred which included additional offices, conference rooms, restrooms, and other support space. The design featured an elevated and enclosed connection between the Bielfeldt building and the adjacent Ubben Basketball Complex. Site work included the expansion of an existing parking lot to accommodate increased staff and visitation.
