Date

New Construction - 2009

Total Project Cost:

$500,000.00

In collaboration with renowned sculptor George Lundeen, this project involved the planning and design of the walled plaza and pedestal base for the new Red Grange statue at Memorial Stadium on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. The design incorporates concrete pavers, brick and limestone masonry, wrought iron fencing and bronze commemorative plaques to ensure compatibility with the 12-foot statue and the stadium’s architecture. This site enhancement is prominently placed within the lower pedestrian concourse on the west side of the stadium and was the capstone of the Memorial Stadium’s “Illinois Renaissance” project started in 2006.
